With Facebook, it isn&#039;t always clear whether the problem lies with Facebook itself, or with the server from which the application is served or with the network in between.  If lots of apps are failing then I guess the network might be to blame.  Facebook doesn&#039;t give apps long to respond to requests... anything more than 5 or 6 seconds and you get the kind of error you are seeing above.

Second Friends did go thru a bad patch in terms of response time, largely because I hadn&#039;t thought thru my algorithms properly when I first coded it... but since then it has been fine (at least up until the last time I checked it - this morning).  So not sure what is happening :-(</description>
