There´s no question that spontaneous synchronous get-together on the ´net are often gold. As indicated, Twitter is the perfect medium for ¨getting the word out" to the rest o' the smart mob. There´s something about the camaraderie that comes from being part of a group all banging away at and in some, or a number of, software application or another to connect with others around the world. The best stuff is impromptu, because of the freshness and intensity it offers. Too bad on the archive--another gem lost in the intertubes. Don't know if you were there when Gardner ustreamed his New Media Studies classes final projects on a whim this past summer after me and and professor tweeted about wanting to see it, there was some magic there too. The best and worst part of this kind of thing is it just happens and there is no other way to explain it, you just got to be there.
