@Richard Gratton: Thanks for the notes. I went a little fast on the setup and missed the mashup of genders on appearance and voice, but hey, it's good to have choices!

I really like the Remix idea! It also has potential t create starts of stories that different people can then generate different endings. Xtranormal is a really fabulous app.

Hi! Thanks for the write-up—glad you enjoyed the app. Some notes:

American Male is the voice profile, which we allow you to apply to a female (e.g., in the halter) character. That is—choice of actor and voice is independent, so if you want a ninja that sounds like an Australian female, go for it.

As to the Remix function—every movie made on the site has a Remix button. If you click it, it opens that movie for editing. It doesn't REPLACE the original, it just lets you use it as a starting point. So if a movie on the site inspires you, click Remix, even if you blow it out entirely and do your own thing. Sometimes its also a good way to see how people accomplish little tricks that get more out of this 'box' than was originally intended.

Cheers!

[...] If You Can Type Text, You Can Create a Movie with xtranormal » CogDogBlog After an hour’s play, I am amazed as this little app, which almost belongs n a category of its own. Again, it’s tagline is “If You Can Type Text, You Can Create a Movie” which is not quite true. You also have to know how to click your mouse. So when you create a movie, you get to choose if it will be one or two characters, pick a set, music, and avatars for the characters. (tags: video howto tools xtranormal) [...]
