I believe that if you approach the article from Digg you would not need to log in. That may also be true if you try to connect through the permalink URL that NYTimes provides (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/23/fashion/23slowblog.html?partner=permalink&amp;exprod=permalink).

Since I got an account at nytimes.com years ago I never notice which articles are behind the login. Hopefully one of those helps.</description>
