I was being tongue in cheek poking at some of the dead beats, some of whom may write an apologetic post and then return to spewing their energy solely in twitter. I am not naming names. The other part of spring cleaning is once the trash has been taken out, the walls scrubbed, is to bring in some new furniture and decorations. It's important to be watching for newer bloggers, and not just the community that created itself a few years ago. I have 44 posts in my edublog section right now (not including what I've already read today - I'm up to 'C'), not bad for a Saturday evening. On a typical workday I'll read more than a hundred edublog posts. So I think people are writing. > Go ahead, I dare you to write a blog post. I might read it.

More seriously, there is still a pretty good flow of edublogs being posted, but the authorship has changed over time. It’s important to be watching for newer bloggers, and not just the community that created itself a few years ago.

I have 44 posts in my edublog section right now (not including what I’ve already read today – I’m up to ‘C’), not bad for a Saturday evening. On a typical workday I’ll read more than a hundred edublog posts. So I think people are writing.
