Alan,

It takes a community to build something like this, and that community is growing.

Today, during my students' second broadcast, we saw evidence of that. My students were confident, giving shout outs to people they knew tweeting in (some repeat listeners), parents were listening in at home and at work, and after asking for permission, my students were tweeting encouragement to each other (I didn't even know some of them had twitter accounts!)

Later that day, I used the stream to connect with Clarence's class for our shared read aloud. After class, a student told me he was going to be away for the next 2 days. We talked about what he was going to be missing, and when we got to the topic of the read aloud, he commented, "No problem, I'll just listen to it on the radio."

Again, a huge thanks to the ds106 community. It's going to be a great learning experience for us all.
