Rather than “Signing Up for Open Courses and Bailing Early” (which doesn’t resolve to a nice acronym, shame on you, how Web 0.x) may I suggest the term “Premature Matriculation” to describe this phenomenon. Also, MOOC proponents may want to offer their prospective members a Calming Ointment Negating Deletorious Online Migrations to prevent such calamities.
