Blogs and RSS WebQuest
Nice.... "Blogs and RSS- Tools for Creating, Collecting, and Sharing Ideas Online" , presented as a WebQuest:
"Learn about tools that will forever change the way you gather information online and separate the online publishing from the technical hurdles typically associated with running a web site"
This has your basic components of a webquest, a task, process, evaluation, littered with resources (a number point back to this dog) and activity templates... you will also find easy to follow steps for creating and beginning a Blogger blog.
An better yet, this sprung up right in our backyard in Phoenix- it was created by Trevor Ettenborough ( who judging by his feedroll, either teachers or works at a local school district- how about an "about" statement for your blog) for a local conference for k-12 educators- the AzTEA 3rd Annual WOW conference.

You are right, I need an about page on my blog. There is a short one there now...
To be honest, I haven't been blogging long. I've had a couple of personal blogs, but I was a classroom teacher before it was possible to blog in the classroom. I see the collaborative power in the medium, but wonder why is it so hard to explain...
We run Manila with scidhotlyn for teachers in Deer Valley. We call it MyTeacher ( http://myteacher.dvusd.com ). It is fantastic blogging software, but most teachers use it for home pages or class pages. That is great, but it could be so much more.
The webquest came from an independant assignment in my Masters program as well as a desire to communicate the power of blogs and rss to our teachers. I don't think it does a particularly good job of explaining RSS, but I have a day or so to work on that...
In researching this, I relied heavily on cogdogblog as well as several other sites. It has been exciting to see the webquest mentioned in a few of them.
When my daughter was born, several years ago, I learned how to write her web pages largely from Alan's volcano tutorial. Alan - Thanks for the fantastic resources you have been providing educators!
