Scary Insurance (What is going on in Middle Earth?)

Yikes, the danger abroad! Next November, I am invited to visit some schools in New Zealand to do some workshops, consulting, meeting with faculty groups, etc, and it gets even better- they are paying my way.

I just got a note from the person arranging travel that they can set up travel insurance which includes among the things like Personal Accident, Baggage loss:

Kidnap and Extortion, $250,000 Hijack and Detention - $100 per day, $3,000 legal costs

Last time I was there it was so peaceful. Have the Hobbits gone bonkers? Is the Ring lost again? Are Orcs swooping down on the Auckland airport?

Oh well, good thing I am insured!
