Yes, well, in addition to "blithering and blogging about Marqui," I wrote several times last week about (a) my kids' and my donations to the Red Cross, and (b) the importance of giving whatever you could. Complete with links to aid organizations--without anyone else even having to bribe me to do it! Imagine that!

You have no idea how much any of us have actually given, or how that relates to what we've taken in. And it's a whole lot easier to donate money if you have it. Talk is cheap.

Oh, and you seem to have missed this part of Anders' original post:

"As regular visitors will have seen, this website as well as other blogs hosted on this site (my photoblog, the group weblog RFIDbuzz.com) have some discreetely placed "sponsored links" to pay for site hosting."

I'm curious as to why that doesn't also constitute "blithering and blogging about getting paid for blogging."

(And since you've already got me in a curmudgeonly mood, I'll also point out that your line in the comment form about "helping us to be better writers" is extraordinarily patronizing.)

Ouch, twice blog slapped! Most likely deserved.

For what its worth (and it was not said), I do not care what people get or do not get for blogging, whether it is millions from some software company or microcents from Google Ads... I care more about interesting writing (whch is why, ahem, I read mamamusings or at least the RSS feeds) and I am neutral on it. Seems some are a tad sensitive.... but it seems time will tell what shakes out.

I may need to create some large banner that disclaims the sarcasm in this place. Sorry to curdle your coffee, Liz....

From suggestions above, the comments preview here is perhaps non patronizing ;-)

And FWIW, I feel no need to proclaim my own contributions in time/money/effort nor would I expect others to have to make public declarations. It's a personal decision that is respected here...

I might have overreacted a bit. I'm a little sleep-deprived today, and that makes me cranky. :)
