Now I am in the trap of my own making. I am going to post (if I do not fall over asleep) the top image from the batch (well maybe four photos) I just heaved on to flickr.

It was a light load today, the photos only from an 11:30 am dog walk across the field.

And…

Z…. I did fall asleep. This blog post counts right as it got started yesterday? We have rules around here.

I did like this one, but it’s pretty close to the one I posted/blogged about yesterday.

But it did lead yo a bit of web wandering, as I remember Cori telling me these were “fireweed” for obvious reasons but the first search came up with photos that were pale purple to pink. But adding “red” to the search mix got me images that looked closer to what I saw/see.

But in the end (meaning soon before I fell asleep), the one that I went for ties into my regular reach when thinking about the expansive skies, from Willa Cather:

The sky was as full of motion and change as the desert beneath it was monotonous and still, — and there was so much sky, more than at sea, more than anywhere else in the world. The plain was there, under one’s feet, but what one saw when one looked about was that brilliant blue world of stinging air and moving cloud. Even the mountains were mere ant-hills under it. Elsewhere the sky is the roof of the world; but here the earth was the floor of the sky. The landscape one longed for when one was away, the thing all about one, the world one actually lived in, was the sky, the sky!

Earth as floor to the sky. I know in instagram that Bill Frakes uses this too.

I replied to Bill one suggesting this kind of photo be tagged or called a “Cathering Sky” hence this photo’s title.

So I made it to Wednesday in this inane effort to not only post my daily photo to flickr every day, but also to blog it too. I see this last effort getting away from me, but I was determined to go past Wednesday.

And that is facing me now, at 3:00pm and I have yet to take a photo….

  1. You can do it, #TrueFriend.

Sometimes you just need a buddy to tell your goals to for motivational purposes. So I can be a #TrueFriend AND a buddy!

Get out there and take some pictures. Or, if it is too dark, then you can make some Inside Ones instead. That is a trick that I learned back in the #365days, that you can borrow if you want. You can make a Still Life One out of things that don’t move, or you can make a Still Alive One out of a thing like Felix or a cat if you have one, even if it is sleeping which is called a Still Alive Still Life or sometimes a Still Alive Lifeless.

So remember your #ds106BootCamp and make art!

    Sincerely,

    your #TrueFriend,

    Tina

    1. Thanks friend Tina. I have no problems taking the photos daily not finding ideas, that is an active practice and my remedy four our current pushed down the stairs time. My struggle, and effort this week, was to get back to regular posting of said images.

      keep arting, yourself!
