September brings the season of change, and after almost missing the cut for August and July calling for last day uploads, the Daily Photo habit changed back to getting it done.

Well that’s because a week or so ago I caught up on the backlog. Yes, no one I am sure gives one hoot or haw or hee about my obsession. But this is my blog and its for me first, so there.

Onto the show for this month, where the 273rd day of the year, September 30, yesterday, marked 273 photos in my flickr album.

Set of photos title 2/25/365, with a grid of 7 recent photos. A red arrow points to the latest one with the label Sep 30 and 273/273 on daily photos.

The pace is good and the will string to notch first perfect daily photo year since 2016. Looking to the tenth round in a month already here.

  1. I just came here to say that I give a hoot, haw, and a hee about your obsession. Yes to all of it each and every time. As someone with three streaks going (one podcast episode each week for 11 years straight; 784 days in a row of closing my Apple Watch rings, and the latest streak of 181 days of stretching using the Bend app), I can fully appreciate the satisfaction of sustaining a practice of something that matters to you.

The Bend app allows the user to “catch up,” given that if you are consistent, you earn a token to restore your streak, which I like and have used three times so far. Apple recently added something similar for the Apple Watch, like if you’re sick or traveling and miss a day, though I haven’t figured out how it works, yet.

Sometimes I worry that I’m too obsessed. However, it’s amazing to me what this quality has enabled me to do and figure there are far worse vices. I still may at some point re-air old episodes in the summer and during the winter holidays. But so far I keep wanting to have these conversations and sharing them out. The list of people to talk to and topics to explore is always so long.

Each time I see one of your posts about your daily photo streak, I sit back with anticipation, knowing I’m about to catch some amazing glimpses of your life. Thank you for your generous and creative spirit that fuels this habit.
