BlogShop Flies Like an Eagle

Yesterday’s workshop, or “blogshop” for faculty at Chandler-Gilbert Community college went very well.

It was much to cover (and most was not) in 2 hours, but we got many of these teachers excited, curious, interested in the tools available via a blog. The blog provides all of the information needed to do this as a self-paced experienced. There is a wee bit of info upfront to help explain blogs, a look at the parts of a blog, and then some instructions for using MovableType, creating entries, uploading/inserting images and other media, using comments, modifying style and index templates, using the Bookmarklet tool, Trackback, and adding RSS feeds.

Each participant was provided their own blog account on our server, and we hope to see how much they do with it over the summer.

An early 90s builder of web stuff and blogging Alan Levine barks at CogDogBlog.com on web storytelling (#ds106 #4life), photography, bending WordPress, and serendipity in the infinite internet river. He thinks it's weird to write about himself in the third person. And he is 100% into the Fediverse (or tells himself so) Tooting as @cogdog@cosocial.ca
