For the most recent DS106 Daily Create, a special one (well all 5167 of the other ones are still special) for International Women’s Day.
tdc5168 #ds106 Acrostically Her, Poem for International Women’s Day #IWD2026
Today is the 115th International Women’s Day all day, worldwide. Honor one (or more) significant women in your life by making an acrostic poem of her name.
That’s right, the first word of every line should be a letter in her name, so it spells out vertically. But make all the text the same size, so the name emerges only when you look down the lines, following the style of Edgar Allen Poe’s An Acrostic.

Here’s mine, as if 4 lines could really even come close to saying how much I love her.
Connecting with students every day in genuine and unique ways (cough D&D)
Or relishing time working adjacent, table covered in books and notes (how does she fit in a PhD?)
Radiating a spontaneous smile just for joy watching the sunset (it never gets old)
I cannot calculate how fortunate I am to be beside her (forever plus a day)
I ain’t no Poe, nor poet, but I can just try. That’s what the DS106 Daily Create has been about for 14+ years, it never stops. How about joining in the fracas? Just check in every day to https://daily.ds106.us or better yet, follow @creating in the only social space that matters.
