These posts document experiments in hacking and tweaking Wordpress; I hardly call myself expert, but I do like to tinker under the hood. If there is something I can do for you, bark my way or visit me at http://cogdog.it
Against my better judgement (oh it was against the judgment of the web site owner) I am setting up the old school FeedWordPress syndication bus for the crew painting the Confabulating/Combobulating site for the upcoming Reclaim Open conference. I have discovered finally a Chat AI thing I can live with and love, TomGPT which yes, […]
I love WordPress. And I love the Fediverse. So together, I love the ActivityPub WordPress plugin that is the magic pixie dust betwxit them. This is an experiment. I published a post here yesterday A[I]s We May Not Think (nor search, nor link), hence autopmatically sent out to the wide fedispace via @barking@cogdogblog.com which was […]
I can’t explain the why I did this much less why I am blogging about it, but I aim to skip some of the blather, and let you, humble visitor, just take a click at what I hatched yesterday (warning note, there are images that shake and flash a bit). So yeah, I have this […]
SPLOTs. Who can’t get enough of them? Most of the internet, I am sure. It’s been a while, aka five years, since I cued up Cher and Whats His Name for that funky toe tapping beat. It’s been literally years since I touched the WordPress themes that power SPLOTs. Yet weirdly, and with all the […]
Hey, it’s a tiny post, just like 2004 days. Short. Sweet. If you are actually reading this post, not just clicking a like button, you hopefully notice a bit more “zip” to it? Like a purring sports car engine. Like… …being now hosted in Reclaim Cloud. It was maybe a year or more ago, when […]
There’s times when I sit down at this here new post page thinking I have something to write about… and find out I have already done so. Well, the thing is open so I can add a bit more wood to the post pile. Just in February I wrote about a fleet of WordPress sites […]
While many people are slamming WordPress because of its baby in charge, I’m focussed still on the open source software I run on my own sites that are not impacted by the tantrums. Lately I have been putting to work on several sites, the WordPress ActivityPub plugin that makes your site publish to and suck […]
In the spirit of Tom’s short tech notes to oneself… I archived a WordPress site I made a few years back for Cori’s high schools students to do some (anonymous) online writing. The site is really just to keep as an archive (and honestly it would be better to convert to static HTML, put that […]
According to Colo…Coloph-Thing I’m in the stretch of coming up doing 19 years of WordPressing, which started with this here blog. I might emulate the SNL Chico Esceula character to say, “WordPress has been vedddy vedddy good to me.” This is not the post to wax or moan about the new phases of WordPress, but […]
In the best Tom Woodward style1, this post is more a reference for me than most anyone else. Besides so many people are freaked out by the WordPress editor, who’s really gonna tweak a theme file? Me. Okay, I have a really old site that was part of the Networked Narratives fleet of sites (it’s […]
