There’s something about October 15, indeed, it being the “approximate” date of my grandmother’s birthday… in 1905. I have pretty much blogged this same story before so more or less a repost, but the way she tells it in her own voice is something special. The featured photo are scans of old images, on the […]
Not that anybody is knocking on my door asking for life advice, but here it is dispensed anyhow. Do yourself a future favor, and record by any means possible the people who carry your family stories. I could not be more thankful for the voices I have digitally preserved, my grandmother, my mom. Last week […]
It’s easily taken the 20+ years I have known Dean Shareski to figure out the secret to be on his podcast — I had to be a Canadian, which is something I finally accomplished in September 2019. The big moment for my fame happened April 22, when we met at the Hive Coffee Shop on […]
My dreams continue of an epic long blog post story of my journeys through digital storytelling, yet every thread ends up being a tangent worth chasing worthy of its own post. As a well established adult at that age, you are confiden— okay enough web anthropomorphizing. One of those things I tag as webserendipity happened a few days ago, and […]
One major branch of my family loses a key limb yet many more now are now connected, growing. On Saturday, I made the journey down to that trouble some country that a one time was united, to drop into home town Baltimore to be a my Aunt Dorothy’s funeral. She was the last living of […]
My new blog post category might be “Enough Of the Web Nostalgia” where this one can be filed. Trust me, I am excitedly peering into the future! I took the Amazing/True Stories of Openness for it’s last hurrah ride, back to the Open Education Conference where it started in 2009. It was perched in the […]
For re-refreshing change from the ever increasing Twitter fallout drama and the rising wave of AI euphoria, I was granted a reprieve last week where I got to catchup with an old friend, yes, that Blabberize talking alpaca. Alas, we could not help but slip into the musky drama of the Now. Our connection traces […]
